For the seventh year in a row, First Assembly of God is sponsoring the biggest Easter event the Great Bend community has ever seen. On Saturday, April 4th at 1 p.m., children through sixth grade are welcome and encouraged to come to First Assembly of God Church, 601 Patton Road in Great Bend, to get in on the Big Cannon Candy Shoot where over 100,000 pieces of candy will be given away. Other prizes will be given away as well.
“One thing that sets our event apart from the rest is the giant cannons we use to shoot the candy out onto the field,” Children’s Ministry Pastor Dale MacKinney says. “It’s quite popular with the kids, and makes it easy for us to give away tons of candy to all who attend.”
This event is free to attend, and all are welcome. Each child is responsible for bringing his or her own basket or bag to collect eggs in. No tinsel or basket filler material is allowed on the field. Optional registration and prize drawings start at 12 p.m.
First Assembly invites the public to get involved with their numerous ministries, including kids services each Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. For more information about First Assembly of God Church, visit www.greatbendfamily.com.
