For the sixth year in a row, First Assembly of God is sponsoring the biggest Easter egg hunt the Great Bend community has ever seen. On Saturday, April 19th at 1 p.m., children through sixth grade are welcome and encouraged to come to First Assembly of God Church, 601 Patton Road in Great Bend, to get in on the thousands of candy-filled eggs that will be given away during the event. Other prizes will be given away as well.
“One thing that sets our egg hunt apart from the rest is the giant cannon we use to shoot the eggs out onto the field,” Children’s Ministry Pastor Dale MacKinney says. “It’s quite popular with the kids, and makes it easy for us to give away tons of candy to all who attend.”
Between the age group hunts, there will also be live performances from the First Assembly Youth Group and Jam Squad. This event is free to attend, and all are welcome. Each child is responsible for bringing his or her own basket or bag to collect eggs in. No tinsel or basket filler material is allowed on the field.
(This hunt was held at the GBHS Football Field in the past, but has moved to First Assembly of God.)
First Assembly invites the public to get involved with their numerous ministries, including kids services each Sunday morning at 10:30 a.m. For more information about First Assembly of God Church, visit www.greatbendfamily.com.
