Using a “Destination Education” theme, the USD 428 Education Foundation has planned a full itinerary of fun for its annual dinner and auction. Tickets are now on sale for the event set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 22 at the Great Bend Events Center. They can be purchased for $50 each from Jennifer Schartz, USD 428 public information director, by calling 793-1500.
White-, black-, red- and panther-level sponsorships are also available for amounts ranging from $100 to $2,000.
The walking dinner will be similar to last year, according to MelEesa Stueder, Education Foundation board member. Attendees are invited to sample foods representing various places around the world from booths manned by local caterers. “People had so much fun last year,” Stueder said. “Everyone was able to get up and mingle while they were sampling all of the great food offered.”
Entrees available this year will be ribs by A& G Catering, shrimp etouffee by Lyles Lashley and Mike Minton, lasagna rolls by Great Bend Coffee, sushi rolls by Chosen Wok, chicken enchiladas by Kim Randall and lobster bisque by The Page. Flavored Celebrations will provide a gourmet dessert. Stueder said there will also be a fruit and cheese table and passed appetizers by Kim Randall. They will include corn fritters topped with cilantro sour cream, blue cheese and ham cheesecake and cheesy sausage roll-ups.
The night will progress with musical entertainment by the McGilber Brothers, followed by a silent and live auction. The evening should conclude by 8:30.
